Pulling Everything Together

July 5 17 3

I feel like directing It’s Not Stamped On Your Forehead pulls together every skill and talent I’ve acquired and honed throughout my entire life.

While the story pulls from actual parts of my life it is so much  more than me.  Whether you have a mental illness or not or even if you do not know anyone with a mental illness the show is still informative and entertaining.

It’s Not Stamped On Your Forehead is being presented by the Midtown International Theatre Festival August 1st 7:45pm  August 3rd 6pm  August 5th 7:15pm

It's Not Stamped On Your Forehead

Dreams

July 5 17 2

I haven’t written and directed a play since I was 16 years old.  Just know (without me revealing my age) that that was a long time ago.

Even then I dreamed of writing and directing a show in NYC but since I was not at that point in my life I directed plays at St. Paul’s.

Someone told me that directing is like riding a bike – if you did it before you can do it again (you never forget)

But it feels more like I passed my driving test and got my license and now I’m driving my first car.  I remember I just held onto the wheel tightly and hoped I didn’t hurt anyone or myself.

Well, It’s Not Stamped On Your Forehead, is not an actual life or death situation.  But it is much like having a car is the beginning of a life where you have a car and know how to drive because writing and directing an off Broadway show is the beginning of my life knowing how to write and direct an off Broadway show.

Come out & see It’s Not Stamped On Your Forehead at the Midtown International Theatre Festival this August –

August 1st 7:45pm       August 3rd 6pm       August 5th 7:15pm

Fearless Thoughts, It's Not Stamped On Your Forehead

Destiny

In the midst of working on my first off Broadway production I keep in mind that there is only one first show.  This is no time to hold anything back or second guess every decision.

Even though there have been people who have told me that nothing could come of this there are others who say that this may be my destiny.  Only time will reveal the truth.

What I do know and feel is that I am at the beginning of something.  I do not know when or how it will end but I know that it is the start of something real.  I hold onto that feeling and work with little thought of the things that could or could not happen.
