Mental Health Tip – Listen to Your Body

I’ve heard many people say that you have to listen to your body but oftentimes as a person with a mental illness I ignore what my body says.

I’ve been doing that my whole life actually, well before I was diagnosed.  My  mother would always take me to the doctor when I didn’t want to go and as an adult I often avoid the doctor at all costs.

And though I feel like the human body can go through a lot and survive I find living my life in alignment with what is best for my body makes me feel a lot better.

So I’m not going to give up all of the things I like to eat or strive to exercise everyday because the truth is that what’s best for my body is not necessarily what’s best for everyone’s body.  And even those who claim to know what’s best for everyone still get sick.
