Mental Health Tip: Don’t Think It Can’t Happen to You

So I went through a phase where I felt I was special.  Just because something happened to someone else I did not believe it would necessarily happen to me.  While this is true the opposite is also true.  If something happened to someone else that thing might also happen to me.

So now I take other people’s experiences as a cautionary tale.  Anything can happen and it doesn’t matter if you feel blessed or special or like the exception to the rule there is no way of knowing what will actually happen.  And believing it won’t happen to you means that thing can catch you off guard.  All outcomes should be considered no matter how unlikely.
