I remember when I was just beginning to learn how to write stories I often sat in a classroom and we had a free write. Many people have done this. You sit and write what ever you want and your mind is supposed to wonder and help you generate ideas or perhaps come to some sore of revelation. It’s a form of written meditation. It takes practice but you can learn how to use it to help you remember things, create things, talk with people, plan new projects, build confidence . . . .
