Mental Health Tip: Protect Your Sanity

I’ve had doctors, friends, and family tell me that “There is no such thing as normal.”

But I’ve come up with  my own definition of normal – An agreed upon state of reality.

In this state of reality I call normal left is left, right is right, up is up, down is down, 10 comes after 5, and there is such a thing as day and night.

Having been in a state of mind when none of these things are true to me I use this as my measurement of my normalcy.  And when people tell me there is no such things as normal I learn so much about them and what their lives have been like and I know how different it has been from mine.
