My CBT exercise for every Sunday was doing laundry.
I picked this activity because when I was little and my mother used to do laundry I always helped her fold the sheets. Folding laundry instantly became one of my most favorite things to do. There’s something calming about the exercise for me. I do not think of anything other than folding the laundry when I’m folding laundry. I’m concerned with each fold and then I instantly give up on everything being folded perfectly.
I’ve given up on laundry every week and I always seem to have more than just one load to do. But when I want to recenter myself it helps to do just one load on a Sunday.
