Mental Health Tip: Buy Yourself A Present

Sometimes I still feel completely horrible – maybe something bad has happened to someone I love, maybe I have the cold or flu, maybe someone has hurt my feelings, or maybe it’s just Monday.  But there comes a time when I wonder if things are going to get worse before they get better.

Typically I can get over it in time but sometimes I have to buy myself a present.  It could be as small as a pack of gum.  But purchasing something just for me offers a certain soothing that I cannot derive from anything else.

It’s a dangerous habit – best kept in moderation – but it certainly has a lasting effect.
