A college friend of mine asked me how often in my life anyone asked me what my GPA was.
I was sitting in church speaking to Reverend Shearer. She was one of the few female Reverends I ever met and she always stared at me very intensely and directly. She asked me what my GPA was at Harvard at one of the depths of my depression. I told her I had a 3.0 and she sat her eyes on me and said, “You don’t think you can find a job with a 3.0 from Harvard?”
I had joined Zion Baptist Church in Everett because I was at a crossroads. I needed a reason to continue living. Reverend Shearer gave me some reasons.
Thank You Zion for helping me when I was in great need!
