Since I’ve been away from Boston I’ve been seeking out times when I can sit by water.
How could I have forgotten sitting by the River and feeling the stillness soothe me?
I’d forgotten how close the water used to be. Now I know I took it for granted. It re-centered me amidst my storms and held the tears I wept alone.
As I sat on the Red Line I was reminded of who I used to be and how little I’ve changed.
