When I read Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In I admit I didn’t quite get it. I was focusing on the work aspect of leaning in. But lately I’ve felt that leaning in has very little to do with work. Leaning in is about love and appreciation.
Someone once asked me if nothing else had changed in my life did, at the very least, the bonds I shared with friends and family grow deeper. At that point in my life they had not. I was alone and retreating into myself.
Now I understand how to deepen a bond and that’s the best part of leaning.
