There are 4 basketball courts in a 3 block radius in Brownsville and I wonder if there is no other game that can be set up for the kids to play. Yes, I know the kids want to play basketball but 4 basketball courts in 3 blocks seems a bit much.
When I arrived at SPS I was overwhelmed by how many sports were available. I’d never heard of lacrosse or squash and I’d never met anyone who played soccer.
The kids in Brownsville have so few options.
There’s an income gap, an education gap, and an opportunity gap. Yet people still wonder why change in this neighborhood is happening so slowly.
