Mental Health Tip # 12: Don’t Skip Meds

don't skip medsI spent most of my time at Harvard skipping meds.  One night turned into two that turned into four and pretty soon I was only taking meds once a week.

The meds I took at the time made my mind feel cloudy and slowed me down.  Instead of telling this to my doctor I decided to take less medication.  This gave me the energy and mental capacity I needed to get through school.  But I knew it was only a short-term solution.

Now my medication gives me the energy and mental capacity I need to thrive.  That’s the way it’s supposed to be.
