I am recently aware that May is Mental Health Month. After completing the National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk this weekend I’ve decided to share some of the ways I maintain my mental health. At the walk the First Lady of NYC said – “There is no health without mental health.” I couldn’t agree more.
Mental Health Tip # 1: Rest
It took me a while to learn that rest and sleep are not the same thing but the body needs both. Time spent doing nothing much is now something I plan to do. I could never survive without brakes throughout the workday, weekend naps, and the occasional staycation. Life without rest is no life at all.
