Our Beloved Community

DSCN0332I see diversity in different ways than I did when I was a teenager.  When I was young it was all black and white.  Now I’ve begun to see the world in color.

Recently I went back to SPS for Our Beloved Community Weekend to celebrate diversity and inclusion at the school.  I attended chapel, sat in on classes, and walked around campus.  I began to feel as if I saw the future for what it could be – decent.

There were kids from all over the world and country of all different races, religions, sexual orientations, & socioeconomic backgrounds treating one another with respect.

This should become the ultimate goal.

Our Beloved Community could become Our Beloved Nation and hopefully one day –

Our Beloved World.
