Brownsville

Acceptance

It was official.  If I chose I could go to school in NH.  Though I didn’t feel as if I had a variety of options I knew if I said no then I could stay in Brooklyn.  My friends were moving on to their own high schools in different places and I knew everything would change if I remained in Brooklyn or moved 8 hours away to Concord.  There were promises of academic, extracurricular, and college opportunities.  Everyone seemed to agree that my life would change for the better.  But saying yes was only the beginning – there were only a few weeks to prep.
